Connective Tissue Massage

Connective Tissue Massage  (CTM) is a  type of Myofascial manipulation that  was developed by  John Latz  of The Institute for Structural Integration ( www.johnlatz.com ) .  Connective Tissue Massage  finds it's foundations from Structural Integration . CTM works by releasing restrictions in the body more effectively and effeciently than any other massage technique available.

It is a very distinct sensory experience. No oils and lotions are applied to the body and clients are usually asked to be prepared for their session by not having any on. Also , The client is asked to be clothed for the session. For women, either bra and underwear or loose shorts and a tank top. For men, underwear or loose fitting shorts.

The contact is generally broad , slow and intentional. The approach is intense but not painful.  CTM is an amazing form of myofascial release technique.  That means  , it is based on lengthening the fascia and not being compressive. It is Deep ,  but  is based on a whole different paradigm than the traditional "Deep-Tissue" massage that most people receive. The effects are lasting and immediate.

The body is made up of many layers of fascia.  CTM  works with the most superficial layer  of fascia first , then continues onto each individual layer closer to the bone until the fascia has restored normalcy.   A session may last anywhere from 60 - 90 minutes and can be adjusted to meet every clients individual needs.

Many clients will receive Connective Tissue Massage  before choosing to receive a Ten-Series of Structural Integration. This will give the client a good reference for what the work will feel like.
